Decommisioning, Retrofitting, Abandoning or Extending Life: thinking of alternative uses? Using new technology to recover hitherto uneconomic reserves: Then read on.......
Original corrosion protection involved the use of sacrificial anodes designed to suit the originally planned life of the structure. Impalloy supplied many of these anodes, which may be approaching the end of their planned life and must be replaced. Recognizing the costs, logisitics and health & safety issues involved, Impalloy has been developing a series of retrofit options that can in some cases completely remove the need for either production shut downs, or dive time. Anode separation is designed to maximise the protective effect of the anodes, so reducing weights required.
The products available cover the full range of applications, from rigs, jackets, protection structures, well heads and pipelines.
Impalloys focus in this area is to maximise anodes delivered per deployment, while keeping the delivery systems within UK road transport parameters, avoiding costly transport costs.

C-Gard SD Supasled
|
The Impalloy C-Guard retrofit anode sled range includes a large output capacity Single Deployment Supasled (SDS), providing a considerable mass of anodes in one operation. The C-Gard™ SDSupasled is ideal for large structures and can be easily installed on the seabed. Dive time is reduced due to ease of installation and may be limited to simply cleaning the attachment point, fitting and tightening the clamp. |

C-Gard SD supasled

|
The C-Gard SD Supasled ICCP enable retrofitting of impressed current anodes in a simple and quick manner. The SD Supasleds can be positioned some distance away from the asset to be protected. Multicore cables are laid across the seabed in the installation operation and terminated in waterproof connectors. A number of sleds can then be connected to a header cable through a J tube. Impalloy can supply TRs in a variety of formats to suit client specifications. |

C-Gard Midisled
|
The C-Gard Midisled is a mid range unit that is designed to have a low profile with sloped sides and protection screens, which means that the unit is less likley to be damaged or moved by trawler boards It is therefore ideal for pipeline retrofit, by way of cable connectors to exisiting anode brackets.
They can be fitted with a variety of anode sizes, cable diameters and clamp assemblies. The sled base can be fabricated to clients sizes to suit, with fixing systems adapted for the structure. .

| C-Gard Hexapod and Octopod
|
For smaller structures Hexapods can be used, with a range of anode current outputs and weights. These can be lowered to the sea bed and connected by cables to the structure. The anode legs can be extended to raise the anodes away from the sea bed allowing for siltation.
These units can be made to suit specific customer requirements, in terms of size and anode capacity, Some designs can be stacked on top of each other on vessel decks therefore saving space and reducing costs.
Octopods can carry large mass of anodes, and are designed to fit into standard shipping containers. Final assembing on dock side or vessel decks allows for a maximum space /weight utilisation.

C-Gard Non-Weld Anodes |
These are designed to be fitted to existing tubular structures to replace expired anodes. They can also be cabled to other structures and insulated from the mounting structure with neoprene. They do not require underwater welding and so can be installed by non coded dive teams.
They can be manufactured in all the standard sizes and insert configurations. The clamp is available in sizes to suit the existing structure.
The surface is prepared by removing gross marine fouling organisms and any other deposits The installation involves either lowering via crane or floating with airbags, offering the clamp onto the structure component and bolting up. Electrical continuity is made by tightening the cone head bolts and cutting through the paint film.

Segmented Bracelet Anode
|
Pipelines or piles can be retrofitted with anode bracelets based on designs similar to the illustration. The band can be welded together or bolt fixed as a preference. This again allows for inexpensive installation as the amount of underwater welding is minimal. Please contact us to discuss your requirements and specification. |
